The following terms and conditions govern your use of our website and services. By using our website and reserving services with us, you agree to abide by each of the terms and conditions set out below. Please note that we may update the terms and conditions at any time, at our discretion, so we recommend that you revisit this page periodically.
We value our guests’ safety and have taken care to facilitate an enjoyable, luxury safari experience at Safari Collective Lodges.
Mjejane Private Game Reserve
We are located within the Mjejane Private Game Reserve (“Reserve”) next to the Kruger National Park, which is a world-renowned Big Five wildlife conservation area.
Guests are required to access the Reserve through the main gate, which branches off the N4 highway.
All of our guests have to abide by the rules of the Mjejane Private Game Reserve at all times. Failure to do so may result in various penalties (depending on the nature of the offence), which will be for the guest’s own account. We, therefore, encourage you to read the Mjejane Private Game Reserve rules carefully upon entry receiving your booking confirmation, and again when you enter the Reserve upon your arrival.
Should we deem you to be in serious breach of the Reserve’s rules, we may cancel the remainder of your stay with us. Our cancellation policy applies in such a case.
Indemnity
Guests will remain responsible for the safekeeping of their personal belongings at all times.
Maya’s Lodge Africa provides an in-room safe in every luxury ensuite for guests to store their valuable belongings upon arrival safely. We do not accept responsibility for theft of, or damages to, any personal property.
It is of utmost importance that children under the age of 18 are accompanied by their adult caretaker at all times. Our swimming pools remain unfenced and uncovered, so children may only swim under adult supervision. At this point, we do not provide child caretaking services.
Resident guests may use our unfenced, indoor or outdoor swimming pools, if available, at their own risk. We may limit the times that the pool is available to guests at our discretion. We may also restrict or prohibit guests’ access to parts of our premises to adhere to South African legislation, for safety reasons or to allow us to render our services efficiently.
Please note that we do not allow pets or smoking indoors.
Bookings & rates
To maintain the safety of our guests and the high quality of our services, we do not allow walk-in guests on our premises.
Bookings are available for a minimum of 3 nights for the entire 5-bed luxury house (up to 10 guests). Guests can reserve our services online via an authorised online reservation channel. Guests may confirm if a booking platform may reserve our services by contacting us via telephone or email. Our contact details are listed at the bottom of our website.
Guests do not need to provide proof of vaccination upon reservation or arrival unless it is required by South African law.
Please note that we can only confirm bookings upon receiving 100% of the booking total one month before the Arrival Date.
Each booking confirmation will include a unique access code, which needs to be presented to the Mjejane Private Game Reserve personnel upon arrival.
Damage Deposit Procedure
As part of our policy, we kindly request a damage deposit from all guests. This deposit amounts to ZAR R 5000 and serves as a safeguard against potential damages.
To ensure a smooth process, we securely collect the damage deposit through a credit card transaction upon your arrival.
Rest assured that your deposit will be promptly refunded via Bank Transfer. Following your check-out, you can expect to receive the refund within 8 to 14 days. Your satisfaction is important to us, and this procedure allows us to maintain the quality of our accommodations for all guests.
Documents required upon arrival
At the Reserve’s gate
Guests are required to present the following upon arrival at the Mjejane Private Game Reserve’s main gate (off the N4 highway):
- Unique access code as per the booking confirmation
- Pay a road levy by card* of:
- R350** for a 1-7 night stay, or
- R80** for a day visit.
- R60 Night rate per person per night
* Please note that the Mjejane Private Game Reserve may change these rates without prior notice.
** Please note that Mjejane Private Game Reserve only accepts payments by card (Visa or Mastercard), NOT cash.
At our premises
In our attempt to reduce payment card-related fraud, guests are required to present the following upon arrival at our premises:
- The credit card that was used to pay for the online reservation.
- A copy of the cardholder’s ID/passport.
Cancellation policy
Cancellation of Accommodation
Although we take utmost care to accommodate guests, we cannot change bookings on the same day of arrival. If guests wish to update their bookings, they can do so before their arrival date and make the balance payment upon arrival.
The following cancellation fees will apply should guests wish to cancel their bookings:
- The client will forfeit 50% of their deposit when cancelling 90 days (3 months) prior to the booking date.
- The client will forfeit 80% of their total booking amount when cancelling 30 days prior to the booking date.
- The client will forfeit 100% of their total booking amount when:
- cancelling 14 days prior to the booking date, or
- not showing up.
For refund timeframes, please refer to the refund policy of the online reservation channel you used to make the reservation with us.
All cancellations need to be sent in written via Email to info@safaricollection.africa.
Cancellation of Services (On Site and Off- Site Activities)
Kindly be advised that any services booked at the lodge and subsequently cancelled will be subject to a 100% charge. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

Privacy policy
We treat our guests’ personal information like our environment: with the utmost respect.
When you use our website, we may collect information like the type of device you use, and use it alongside website cookies. We do this to tailor your experience on the website, similar to how we personalise your experience at Safari Collective Africa Lodges.
When you reserve services with us online, we also collect information from you to process your reservation, such as your name, contact details, and unique booking reference number.
We can assure you that the information we collect is not shared and is used only for the purposes of booking and enhancing your experience with us. This privacy policy applies when using all services provided by Safari Collective Africa Lodges. It does not cover the policies of individual companies or organisations that advertise our services, as they may use various other methods and technologies to collect information.
In adherence to South African legislation, guests may contact our Information Officer if they have queries about how we process personal information.
